Profile of Bill Wallace: |
I started making custom furniture in 1974 and began woodturning in 1975. Currently I teach classes at the NC State Craft Center, Alamance Community College and at my shop in Northern Wake County. I have been teaching woodworking classes for over 25 years. I show and sell my work through a few galleries, such as Cedar Creek Gallery in Creedmoor, The Sunflower Studio in Wake Forest and the VAE (Visual Art Exchange) in Raleigh. Much of my work
is custom orders of furniture pieces and turnings. Often the pieces
are done from a tree that has meaning to the customer. Much of the other work that I do comes from wood from Mike Smith. Mike has operated a portable sawmill business since 1988. He has been able to obtain many unique pieces of wood for me over the years. |
